This is a common misconception, particularly within the fireworks industry, but it doesn’t reflect reality. Our event-specific drone shows with 50–150 drones and a duration of 12–13 minutes cost CHF 160 per drone, plus any additional expenses for special content as well as organisational or scheduling requirements (as of August 2026). This means that a wedding or birthday show with 50 drones is available from as little as CHF 8,000. Firework displays of a similar duration cost several times as much – and are usually standard, off-the-shelf shows. And be honest: who still remembers the content of the last fireworks display they saw?
Under our authorisation from the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA), we are permitted to fly up to 200 metres above ground level. With our smaller fleets of 50 to 150 drones, however, we rarely need to use the full altitude. Most shows take place between 50 and 120 metres above the ground. And good to know: the most spectacular view is often achieved when the audience can look slightly upwards at the animations. Ideally, the horizontal distance between a 150-drone show and the audience is around 300 metres. For even better visibility, we can also tilt the formations slightly towards the audience.
Drone shows over a lake or river are in a league of their own! The lights are reflected on the water, creating an extraordinary visual experience. In this case, we take off and land at a suitable location on land and then fly to the show area over the water. As we are only permitted to fly over “controlled ground” – meaning a closed-off or at least monitored area – the distance between the take-off and landing site and the show area should not be too great.
We regularly perform shows in the Alps, even in challenging temperatures and wind conditions. Temperatures down to -15°C and wind speeds of up to 30 km/h are possible with the appropriate precautions on our part. Light snowfall and drizzle are generally no problem either. In heavy rain, however, we work with the customer to find a suitable weather window and may move the show slightly forwards or backwards at short notice.
To coordinate the animations, music and, if required, a voice-over, as well as programming, testing, site inspections and obtaining the necessary permits from landowners, municipalities and possibly nearby airports, we ideally need around two months of preparation time. Popular dates also tend to book up well in advance, so get in touch with us early!
We fly with a minimum of 50 drones, which already allows us to create impressive and surprising images and animations. Larger fleets are, of course, always possible. Every show includes suitable musical accompaniment, which is played for the audience during the performance. For anniversaries and corporate events, we often also include a voice-over, which we combine with matching animations. Broadcasting via radio stations and internet streaming is also possible. Customers can contribute their own wishes and ideas when selecting both the animations and the music.
Our drone shows last between 12 and 13 minutes. We can start from 30 minutes after sunset. Ideally, we perform at a distance of around 150 to 300 metres from the audience, allowing them to look slightly upwards at the show. For take-off, landing and our equipment, we require an area roughly half the size of a football pitch, which we secure during the performance.
